We are very excited to announce that we will be running a Women's team from the 2023-24 season.
Girls’ and women's rugby is one of the fastest growing female sports since 2013 and it continues to grow across the country following the continued success of the England Women’s team The Red Roses.
We are extremely lucky to have Leanne Infante (Riley) directing our girls section forward on and off the field as Head of Girls Rugby and Coach.
Leanne set up the girls’ section in 2016 where we started with 25-30 girls varied from aged 7-17. We have since grown this to 75+ girls from aged 9-18, running 4-5 competitive teams in Surrey competitions.
If you are interested, please register your interest by emailing Leanne Infante or Hannes Black :
womens.rugby@grfc.co.ukWe are also excited to announce that we participate in Surrey Rugby’s U23 Women competition, deliberately timed for the Christmas and Easter college holidays. We are ideally hoping to attract any players returning home for the holidays or any other local players keen to play.
Further details will follow when the teams are announced and fixtures are set up, if you are aged 17 or over and are interested in playing please get in touch, we look forward to meeting you.
We provide a safe and enjoyable environment to help develop players. Our focus as coaches is to develop players to be better next week than they were in the previous week, to be part of a team, have fun and enjoy rugby.
The club upholds the RFU core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.Leanne Infante and Jason Hillier Head of Girls Rugby and Coachwomens.chairman@grfc.co.uk
