The Surrey Bisons Mixed Team stormed Horsham Rugby Club for the South East Development Series Round 3, leaving everything on the pitch—blood, sweat, and even a fence collision.
Guided by Coach Chris and led by our fearless captain Holly Waters, we kicked off with a 5-2 win over Horsham, with Jacques Halbert’s blistering debut intercept try and Katie Wright scoring like a seasoned pro. The experienced quartet of Christian, Jose, Niall, and Bryan anchored the team, their composure shining in tough moments. A hard-fought 5-3 loss to the Scorps followed, especially tough after Duane’s injury, but we rallied to dismantle Chobham 5-1 with experience outclassing youthful flair.
The semi-final against Southampton was a brutal 5-3 battle, but the plate final against Eagles Black took the drama to another level. Down 3-0 at halftime, we clawed our way back, with Katie even diving headfirst into a fence (sadly not rewarded). After a thrilling 3v3 sudden death in the freezing dark, Christian Prinsloo finally broke through to secure the win.
An incredible team effort capped a glorious day!
Many thanks,
